Technical expertise, architecture and delivery

OceanByte is a founder-operated technology business in Cork, working with Irish and international clients on website development, custom applications, ERP, SaaS and digital growth. You work directly with the founder to establish requirements, review architecture and agree delivery priorities. From discovery to handover, our approach combines documented technical decisions, regular demonstrations and clear responsibility for the work.

  • Branding & Digital Experience

Brand positioning & identity. OceanByte develops brand strategy through direct conversations about your business, customers and competitive position. We establish the proposition and messaging before developing the visual identity, so design decisions have a commercial basis. You review the direction at defined stages, with agreed principles documented for consistent use across websites, applications and marketing.

UX architecture & interaction design. We work with the people who know your customers and operations to map the journeys a digital product must support. Information architecture, user roles and workflow dependencies shape the interface. Prototypes make navigation, permissions and exception paths tangible, allowing your stakeholders to resolve questions before those decisions become development commitments.

Design systems & usability. Our UI/UX work establishes reusable design patterns that developers and content teams can apply consistently. Component specifications cover responsive behaviour, accessibility considerations and interaction states. We review these patterns with you in the context of real tasks, then document approved decisions so future changes preserve the integrity of the experience.

  • Application Development, SaaS & ERP

Mobile & custom web applications. Custom app development begins with a shared understanding of users, business rules and the environments in which the application will operate. OceanByte assesses web, native and cross-platform options with you, explaining the implications for functionality, cost and maintenance. Agreed journeys become a prioritised backlog, with working demonstrations at planned review points.

SaaS product engineering. For SaaS development, we define the commercial model and platform architecture together. Tenant boundaries, subscription states, onboarding and permissions are considered before implementation. We review the initial release scope with you, document the technical decisions and plan subsequent development around product priorities, operational feedback and the responsibilities of running the service.

ERP & operational software. ERP projects require close involvement from the people responsible for daily operations. We map processes, approval rules and data ownership with your stakeholders, then define how existing systems and new functionality will connect. Delivery plans address migration, reconciliation and user acceptance, with operational dependencies reviewed before changes are introduced.

  • Website Development & Ecommerce

Frontend engineering. OceanByte approaches website development as a coordinated design and engineering discipline. Approved interfaces are implemented with semantic markup, reusable components and defined application states. We review accessibility, browser behaviour and loading performance during development, and demonstrate progress against the agreed design and customer journeys rather than relying on screenshots alone.

CMS architecture & content modelling. We plan CMS architecture with the people who will publish and maintain your content. Content models, editorial permissions and reusable page structures reflect their responsibilities, while preview and approval workflows support day-to-day control. Migration requirements are agreed early, and the handover explains how to update the site within its design and content standards.

Branded ecommerce & integrations. Our ecommerce approach connects the customer experience with the systems supporting each order. We establish requirements with your commercial and operational stakeholders, covering catalogue structure, checkout, payment, stock and fulfilment. Integration scenarios and exception paths are reviewed before release, with acceptance checks agreed for both the storefront and the order workflow.

  • SEO & Digital Marketing

Technical search foundations. Technical SEO is considered within website architecture and release planning. We assess URL structure, crawlability, rendering, indexation and canonical signals, then explain which changes address the issues found. Recommendations are prioritised with you against business relevance and implementation effort, with checks after release to confirm the intended behaviour.

Search intent & content strategy. We develop search strategy from your expertise, offer and the questions customers ask before choosing a supplier. Keyword research and intent mapping inform the page structure; conversations with your business establish the detail that makes the content useful. You review factual accuracy and positioning before publication, keeping SEO aligned with the company you want to represent.

Campaign journeys & measurement. Digital marketing decisions need a clear definition of meaningful progress. We agree the audience, conversion journey and measurement requirements with you before specifying campaign destinations and tracking. Reviews examine the quality of enquiries or engagement alongside traffic, with recommendations that distinguish observed evidence, attribution limits and assumptions requiring further testing.

  • Backend, APIs & System Integration

Backend services & data design. Backend architecture starts with the rules your business needs the software to enforce. We document data relationships, access permissions and transaction requirements, then define service boundaries around them. Technical reviews cover validation, error handling and operational visibility, while client demonstrations show how those decisions support the intended workflow.

API integration & automation. Before connecting platforms, OceanByte clarifies what information moves between them, which system owns it and who is responsible when an exchange fails. API contracts, authentication and synchronisation rules are documented alongside retries and reconciliation where required. We coordinate integration dependencies with your suppliers and agree acceptance scenarios before introducing the connection into operation.

Architecture planning & technical audits. Architecture planning gives your project a documented technical direction. We examine existing systems, expected usage and operational constraints, then explain the proposed components, dependencies and trade-offs. For an established product, a technical audit identifies issues and remediation priorities. Findings are reviewed with you so scope and investment decisions rest on a shared understanding.

  • AI & Technology Integration

Use-case discovery & feasibility. Our AI consulting approach begins with a business task and a testable definition of success. We assess data availability, access restrictions and the consequences of an incorrect output with your stakeholders. A focused feasibility exercise establishes whether the proposed use case warrants further investment and which controls would be required in operation.

AI-enabled applications & workflows. AI integration is designed around the workflow your people need to complete. We define how context is supplied, how access is enforced and how outputs enter the existing application or process. Early demonstrations allow you to assess usefulness, while technical reviews address validation, integration dependencies, failure handling and the cost of operating the solution.

Evaluation & human oversight. We agree evaluation criteria with you before treating an AI feature as ready for use. Representative examples and documented failure cases inform testing, including output quality, latency and cost. Review responsibilities, approval steps and fallback processes are defined around the task, so the client retains appropriate oversight of how the capability is used.

  • Technology Strategy & Digital Transformation

Business and systems assessment. Every engagement starts with the business context: what needs to improve, what already works and what must continue operating during change. OceanByte reviews processes, systems and stakeholder responsibilities with you before recommending a solution. The findings establish a shared brief for custom software development, website redevelopment or a wider digital transformation programme.

Options & investment priorities. We present technology options in terms that support a business decision. Recommendations compare capability, integration effort, ownership cost and maintenance requirements, with assumptions and supplier dependencies made explicit. You have direct access to the founder throughout these discussions, allowing technical questions, commercial priorities and delivery constraints to be resolved together.

Delivery roadmaps. Delivery is organised around an agreed roadmap, acceptance criteria and clear review points. We maintain close communication through scheduled updates and working demonstrations, recording decisions and explaining the impact of proposed changes. Release planning covers testing, deployment and rollback; handover establishes access, documentation, operational ownership and the scope of any continuing support.
